The Florida Panthers reached the Stanley Cup Final for the third consecutive season as they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Marlins had the third worst record in the National League and fifth worst record in Major League Baseball.
