Dwyane Wade dropped down a double-double of 32 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds as the Miami Heat set a franchise record with their 15th consecutive win and beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 97-81 at Target Center on Monday night. The Heat improved to 11-1 when Wade is the leading scorer and 9-1 in the second game of a back-to-back situation.
Minnesota(20-37) scored the first six points of the opening quarter and would only lead for just the first six minutes of the game. Miami(44-14) followed with a 19-6 run and led 22-16 after one quarter. The Heat were up the entire second quarter and went into halftime ahead 50-43.
The Heat had a double-digit margin for most of the third quarter and the Timberwolves trailed 69-63 at the end of the frame. The T-Wolves pulled within three points of the lead at 71-68 with 10:15 left in the fourth quarter, but Miami followed on a 15-3 rally.
Miami got a double-double by LeBron James who had 20 points and 10 assists in 35 minutes while Chris Bosh fell short of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds in 31 minutes. Reserve Ray Allen added 13 points in 26 minutes of play.
Derrick Williams knocked down a double-double for Minnesota with 25 points and 10 rebounds in 45 minutes. Ricky Rubio contributed 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds and six steals in 39 minutes. Alexey Shved got 13 points and Luke Ridnour had nine points and five assists.
