WEFL Celebrates Ten Years

Good Karma Broadcasting celebrated their tenth anniversary in the West Palm Beach market on Sunday with ESPN 760 WEFL-AM. They acquired the frequency and went on-the-air on March 3, 2003. Good Karma Broadcasting purchased 106.3 WUUB-FM from Palm Beach Broadcasting last week and changed the format to a simulcast of ESPN 760 on February 25.
The station began with only one local show during afternoon drive with Steve and Craig. It consisted of Good Karma Broadcasting CEO Craig Karmazin and Vice President Steve Politziner. Both grew up as best friends in New Brunswick, New Jersey, formed a broadcasting company in Wisconsin and started their own sports show. The rest of the schedule had ESPN Radio piped in.
ESPN 760 eventually added an afternoon show with Evan Cohen and moved the Steve and Craig Show to an early evening slot. The station had the Palm Beach County exclusive rights to the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Marlins, Florida Panthers, University of Miami and University of Florida broadcasts when it began in 2003.
They would then have weekend late morning shows and later went into broadcasting games of Palm Beach County high school football on Friday nights. ESPN 760 picked up a major property and became the flagship station of Florida Atlantic University football and basketball games.
The station eliminated the Steve and Craig Show and plugged in an early evening show with Jeremy Marks-Peltz and Jason Pugh. They added High School Hysteria on Friday nights and moved their high school football game of the week to Thursday nights in 2011.
