Longtime local sportswriter Mike Berardino celebrated his first month on the job as the Minnesota Twins beat writer for the St. Paul Pioneer Press on Monday. He had co-hosted a weekend show at 640 Sports WMEN-AM from early December 2012 until this February.
He was relieved of his writing
duties at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in late November 2012. Berardino had been
in the South Florida media market since 1998 when he joined the Fort Lauderdale
Sun-Sentinel. He held numerous positions on their sports staff that included
baseball columnist, Miami Dolphins beat writer and sports columnist.

Mike, you wrote a great article about my husband, terry holder, baseball coach at evans then greenbrier high and retired from thomson high. I just wanted to say thank you - after 19 years! He 's retired on lake thurmond - fishing - now, but he 's just as dedicated to fishing as he was to winning those 8 total state champions! Thank you! Brenda Holder - the woman with the whistle!
