Heat Outduel Hawks

    The Miami Heat extended their winning streak to 19 games as they got a 98-81 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat, who improved to 30-3 at home this season, led the game from wire-to-wire as they beat Atlanta for the seventh straight time.
    Miami(48-14) came out with a 22-10 spurt and were up 26-18 after one quarter. Atlanta(34-29) pulled behind by one point at 41-40 with five minutes left in the second quarter, but the Heat finished the first half on a 16-4 rally and led 57-44 at halftime.
    The Hawks could come no closer than seven points away as Miami maintained their double-digit lead in the later part of the period and were ahead 79-65 after three quarters. The Heat extended the margin up to 22 points at 89-67 with 8:53 remaining in the final quarter.
    Dwyane Wade had a team-high 23 points with six assists and five steals in 30 minutes of play for the Heat. LeBron James knocked down 15 points with seven assists and seven rebounds in 30 minutes. Mario Chalmers and Chris Bosh both scored 14 points each.
    Josh Smith got the team-high for Atlanta with 15 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes. Al Horford dropped down 12 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes while Jeff Teague scored 12 points in 24 minutes.
