Rockies Win Series Over Marlins

The Colorado Rockies defeated the Miami Marlins 3-2 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Rockies won their first series after 20 series losses in the 2025 regular season. They had lost a Major League Baseball record 22 consecutive series going back to last year.
The Fish will finish up a six-game homestand tomorrow. The Marlins and the Rockies have two of the three worst records in the National League.
Miami(23-36) rolled out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Jesus Sanchez singled into right field to score Nick Fortes. Two batters later, Kyle Stowers got a base hit up the middle and Sanchez scored.
Colorado(11-50) evened it up 2-2 in the fifth inning. Jordan Beck drove in Mickey Moniak on a single into right field. Thairo Estrada followed with a sacrifice fly to center field and Tyler Freeman crossed the plate.
The Rockies moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the eighth. Hunter Goodman connected with a solo homer over the left-field wall on a 2-1 pitch. It was his third home run in the last two contests and 10th home run this season.
