Cardinal Newman(9-3) is led by head coach Jack Daniels in his first season with the school. He guided the Dwyer Panthers to two state titles in 2009 and 2013. They have outscored their opponents 401-167 this season. The Crusaders have won eight of their last nine games. They took St. Andrew's 41-6 in a regional quarterfinal and upset Florida Christian 42-7 in a regional semifinal.
Freshman quarterback Davi Belfort gets to call the signals for the Crusaders offense. He can connect passes to wide receivers Ja'kavian Williams, Chris Presto, Kevin Levy and Jarard Mosely down the field. Running backs Tovani Mizell and Henry Bennett will get their share of rushing opportunities and can receive screen passes.
Chaminade-Madonna(8-1) have won seven straight games and outscored their opponents 284-101 this year. Head coach Dameon Jones has brought the Lions to the FHSAA Class 3A state title game five consecutive times and looks to make it six. They blanked Miami Edison 45-0 in the regional semifinal.
The Lions are led on offense by quarterback Cedrick Bailey. Running backs Davion Gause, Duane Thomas Jr. and Jeremiah Avrilien will get the bulk of the carries from the backfield. Bailey looks to find Thomas along with wide receivers Edwin Joseph and Jeremiah Smith on pass receptions.
