There was a major lineup change and new branding for a local sports talk station. WINZ-AM let go Jeff DeForrest from mornings along with The Greek from mid-afternoons on September 21 and decided to pipe in the entire Fox Sports Radio weekday lineup. The station also changed their brand name on the same day from Miami Sports 940 to Fox Sports 940 Miami. The Miami Marlins were also eliminated from postseason contention at the start of the period. WINZ remained at a 0.2 for the second straight month.
