Three of the four Broward County teams moved on to the next round. St. Thomas Aquinas, Cardinal Gibbons and Chaminade-Madonna were victorious while Plantation lost.
Dade County high schools were cut down from eight to four. Miami Northwestern, Columbus, Miami Central and Champagnat Catholic won. Miami Palmetto, Gulliver Prep, Miami Killian and Homestead did not advance.
