The Treasure Coast Titans head for Palm Beach County and face the Palm Beach Central Broncos in a Class 8A regional final battle on Friday night. The team victorious will take on either Seminole or Apopka in a state semifinal.
Treasure Coast(9-1) have outscored their opponents 431-179 this year and won their last six contests. They outlasted Palm Beach Gardens 47-22 in a regional quarterfinal and beat Boone 51-19 in a regional semifinal.
The Titans will emphasize their running attack and have made just 16 passing attempts this season. Running back Eden James, son of former University of Miami running back Edgerrin James, is expected to get the majority of their rushing opportunities. Quarterback Maurico Porcha along with running backs Cephus Roberts Jr., Jamison Davis and Jadyn Azeredo-Dematthews will also carry the ball.
Palm Beach Central(10-0) was the only undefeated team in Palm Beach County during the regular season. The Broncos have outscored their opponents 394-154 this season. They pounded Centennial 41-9 in the regional quarterfinal and edged Vero Beach 28-21 in the regional semifinal.
The Broncos have Ahmad Halston at quarterback to lead their offense. He can fire passes to wide receivers Luby Maurice Jr., Javorian Wimberly, Justin Bostic, Aidan Whitehall and Cody Wasielewki. They have a slew of running backs with Markel King, Aldorson Estinvil, Tyler Young and Devin Wygant for rushing attempts.
