Braves Sweep Marlins

The Atlanta Braves knocked off the Miami Marlins 11-3 on Thursday night at Truist Park. The Marlins concluded a seven-game road trip and will host the Los Angeles Angels tomorrow. The Braves now have an eight-game winning streak.
Atlanta(70-45) moved in front 2-0 in the bottom of the third. Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a ball to left-center field on a 2-0 pitch. Two Marlins outfielders, center fielder Esteury Ruiz and left fielder Heriberto Hernandez, crashed into each other trying to catch the ball on the warning track and it bounced over the fence for a homer. Drake Baldwin scored in front of Acuna on the play.
The Braves pulled ahead 6-0 in the sixth inning with four more runs. Matt Olson blasted a solo home run to center field on a 1-2 count for his 32nd home run of the season. Three batters later, Lane Thomas doubled into the left-field corner and Michael Harris II crossed the plate. It was the first base hit for Thomas in a Braves uniform. Two batters after that, Austin Riley drove in Mauricio Dubon with a sacrifice fly to center field. Thomas would eventually score on a fielder's choice where Xavier Edwards made a fielding error.
Miami(58-58) closed it to 6-2 in the top of the seventh. Javier Sanoja singled into center field and Edwards scored. Griffin Conine followed with a base hit through the right side and Leo Jimenez reached home.
The Bravos answered back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh for an 8-2 advantage. Harris knocked in Olson on a triple into the right-center field gap. Dubon came up next and drove in Harris with a single up the middle.
