Inter Miami CF Stunned By Monterrey

Inter Miami CF were surprised by Monterrey 2-1 on Saturday night at Nu Stadium in a Leagues Cup clash. It was the Herons second contest in the Leagues Cup group stage. Monterrey is a well-known squad from Liga MX in Mexico.
Lionel Messi was not on the Inter Miami CF roster for the contest. His father Jorge Messi passed away on Friday. The team held a moment of silence before the game.
In the first half, the Herons broke out to a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute. Rodrigo De Paul rifled a right-footed shot from 28 yards away into the low left corner of the cage.
Monterrey evened it up 1-1 in the 47th minute of play. Hugo Kuypers roofed a two-yard shot with right foot following a loose rebound early in the second half.
Inter Miami CF would trail 2-1 during the 90th minute. Diego Rossi trapped the ball with his chest and half-volleyed a left-footed shot from two yards out.
