The Miami Marlins canned the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-2 at loanDepot park on Wednesday night. The Marlins will conclude their six-game homestand tomorrow.
Pittsburgh(58-64) had a 1-0 advantage in the top of the second. The Fish matched in the bottom of second for a 1-1 tie. Miami(62-59) piled on four runs in the bottom of the third for a 5-1 lead.
Griffin Conine belted a solo home run on a 2-1 pitch in the fourth inning for his 13th homer this season to give Miami a five-run margin 6-1. The Marlins added another two runs in the bottom of the sixth for an 8-2 lead on a two-run homer by Heriberto Hernandez to left-center field. It was Hernandez's 17th home run of the 2026 campaign.
