Marlins Blank Pirates

     The Miami Marlins shut out the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 at loanDepot park on Tuesday night. The Marlins are in the middle of a six-game homestand. Both clubs had the day off yesterday. 

     Miami(61-59) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Esteury Ruiz cracked a solo home run to left field on the first pitch for his sixth homer of the season. 

     Pittsburgh(58-63) gave up one run in the fifth inning and were down 2-0. Xavier Edwards hustled for an infield hit and Ruiz scored on a throwing error by Jacob Gonzalez.
