Josh Kushner Buys Los Angeles Lakers

     Miami Heat minority owner Josh Kushner has bought the Los Angeles Lakers along with former Disney business executive Bob Iger. The sale is expected to around $12.5 billion, which would be a highest amount ever paid for any North America professional sports franchise. 

     Kushner holds a small share of ownership in the Heat with Micky Arison being the majority owner of the team. He would have to divest his holdings in the Miami Heat if the sale goes through to buy the Lakers. 

     He once had an minority ownership share of the Memphis Grizzlies. Kushner sold that interest in May 2025 to join Miami Heat ownership.
