The Fort Lauderdale Strikers were blanked by the New York Cosmos 2-0 at James M. Shuart Stadium on Sunday. It was the second game of a three-game road trip for Fort Lauderdale(4-8-5).
New York(11-3-4) scored two goals in the second half. Ruben Bover put in a tally during the 57th minute and Andres Flores later followed with a goal in the 86th minute. The Cosmos extended their first-place margin in the NASL fall season standings.
