The Florida Panthers decided earlier today to postpone their preseason game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at BB&T Center that was to be held on Thursday night due to the impending storm Hurricane Matthew. There is no indication if this contest will be rescheduled.
The Panthers lost to the Stars in Dallas 2-1 in a shootout on Tuesday night. The club flew home to South Florida following the game and were scheduled not to practice today. The team will travel to the United States Army Base in West Point, New York before the hurricane arrives in Broward County. They host the New Jersey Devils in a preseason game there on Saturday.
