Spurs Dump Heat

The San Antonio Spurs held on to stop the Miami Heat 106-99 at American Airlines Arena on Sunday night. It renewed a rivalry between both teams who met during the NBA Finals back in 2013 and 2014.
Neither club had their most recognized signature star on the court that they had over the past decade. Tim Duncan retired during the off-season while Dwyane Wade signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bulls.
San Antonio(4-0) stayed in front for most of the first half and were up 52-44 at halftime. Miami(1-2) was unable to overcome it and lost their second straight home game.
Hassan Whiteside compiled big numbers with 27 points and 15 rebounds for the Heat. Goran Dragic contributed 25 points and Justise Winslow dropped 18. Kawhi Leonard was the leading scorer for the Spurs with 27 points while Pau Gasol added 20 points and 11 rebounds.
