Miami FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies played to a 2-2 tie on Friday night at FIU Stadium. The Rowdies captured the Coastal Cup with the draw. Tampa Bay won the Coastal Cup four consecutive years from 2010 until 2013. The Fort Lauderdale Strikers held the trophy for the past two seasons.
Miami FC(8-5-6) got two first-half goals from Jaime Chavez in the 16th minute and Kwadwo Poku just five minutes later. Tampa Bay(5-7-7) bounced back during the 27th minute with a tally by Georgi Hristov. Juan Guerra tied the match 2-2 in the 66th minute on an assist by Joe Cole.
