The Miami Heat got by the Houston Rockets 101-99 at American Airlines Arena on Thursday night. The Heat returned home after a long six-game road trip. It was a rare occasion this season that the club appeared on national television.
Houston(16-15) blasted out to a 33-21 lead after one quarter and remained ahead 58-53 at halftime. Miami(14-16) responded in the second half with a 19-6 run and were up 82-76 after three quarters. The Rockets outscored their opponents 23-19, however the Heat held them off.
James Harden had a game-high 35 points and 12 assists for Houston while Eric Gordon added 20 points. Josh Richardson compiled a team-high 22 points and seven assists for the Heat. Tyler Johnson dropped in 19 points and Dwyane Wade contributed 10 points.
