The Wisconsin Badgers routed the Miami Hurricanes 35-3 in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night. The Hurricanes have lost in eight of their last nine bowl games that they have appeared in. The Badgers defeated the Canes at Camping World Stadium in Orlando last year in a bowl game.
Wisconsin(8-5) scored on their first drive at 11:56 of the first quarter. Quarterback Jack Coan threw the ball to the left hashmarks and wide receiver Kendric Pryor scored on a 35-yard touchdown.
Hurricanes quarterback Malik Rosier tossed an interception, the Badgers reached the end zone of the first play of their next drive. Running back Jonathan Taylor raced up the middle from seven yards out at the 11:30 mark.
Miami(7-6) got their only points in the contest with 1:15 left in the first. Bubba Baxa was able to boot a 33-yard field goal.
In the third quarter, Wisconsin made it 21-3 with 3:36 to go. Running back Alec Ingold busted through the middle from two yards away.
The fourth quarter belonged to the Badgers. Coan scored on a seven-yard touchdown run at 9:59. Running back Taiwan Deal capped the victory on a short one-yard plunge with eight seconds remaining in the game.
