Larry Milian, a.k.a. The Amigo, will begin his new national morning show for SLAM Radio at SiriusXM Radio on Monday. He is also the program director for that station.
SLAM stands for the Sports Leadership Arts and Management charter school network and it is based in Miami. Music entertainer Pitbull is a co-founder and brand ambassador of the organization.
Milian was last heard on local radio at 880 WZAB-AM. He co-hosted a Saturday late morning show with former WTVJ-TV Channel 6 and current ESPN sportscaster Stefano Fusaro from August 2016 to February 2017.
He had previous stints on South Florida radio. He began at Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM along with Alan Strauss as weekend co-hosts on The Dos Amigos program in late 2005. They were later elevated to late nights and worked there until 2009.
Milian then landed at 640 Sports WMEN-AM in late 2009 as a weekend afternoon co-host with Andy Slater. He joined the morning shift in July 2010 where he partnered with Armando Salguero and later Chris Perkins until Milian left the station in December 2011.
His next stop was at Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM in January 2012. He co-hosted a mid-afternoon show with first Phil Domanic and later Troy Stradford until August 2013.
The Amigo would work the next couple of years on internet websites. He joined StateOfTheU.com in August 2013 as a writer and Wednesday night podcast host. Milian added duties as a Saturday late morning sports host at SoFloRadio.com in April 2014. He later became a part of SportsOvertime.com in 2015 as their morning show host.
