The Miami Heat got past the New Orleans Hornets 102-96 on Sunday night at Smoothie King Center. The Heat wrapped up a six-game road trip with a 4-2 record. The Pelicans had their only lead in the contest during the first two minutes of play.
Miami(13-16) had a 33-28 advantage after one quarter and led 57-53 by halftime. New Orleans(15-16) were outscored in the third quarter and trailed 85-75. They chopped the deficit down to six points and lost 102-96.
Josh Richardson dropped in 22 points for the Heat while Dwyane Wade added 19 points along with six rebounds. Hassan Whiteside put together a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. The Pelicans were led by Anthony Davis with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Jrue Holiday also contributed 22 points.
