The Miami-Dade County High School Football All-Star Game will be held at Gerry Curtis Park Stadium on Saturday. It is the 23rd annual contest. "Uncle Luke" Luther Campbell will be the head coach of the North squad while Pete Marti will guide the South.
The North team is led by the Class 6A, District 16 powerhouse schools. They are loaded at quarterback with Maurice Underwood(Miami Central), Daniel Richardson(Carol City), Isaiah Velez(Miami Northwestern) and Karon Johnson(Edison).
The running back core includes Nay'Quan Wright(Carol City), Lexington Joseph(Miami Central), Jacquez Stuart(Miami Northwestern) and Marcus Barthell(Booker T. Washington).
The group of wide receivers has Amari Johnson(Carol City), Kevin Butler(Booker T, Washington), Jaylin Young(Miami Central), Dwight Jackson(Miami Northwestern), Rayquan Berry(Miami Northwestern), Ricky McKnight(Miami Northwestern), Estmane Lucador(Booker T. Washington), Antwan Brinson(Edison) and Breion Fuller(Edison).
On the other side of the ball, they have on the defensive line Calijah Kancey(Miami Northwestern) and Malcolm Ray(Carol City). The linebackers include Tatum Bethune(Miami Central), Leslie Smith(Miami Northwestern) and Travis Pittman(Booker T. Washington). The secondary has Jarvis Brownlee(Carol City), Andrew Bloodsaw(Miami Central), Larry Robbins(Miami Northwestern) and Anthony Frederick(Miami Central).
The South team has Demetrius Burns(South Dade) and Antwan Anderson(Miami Southridge) at quarterback while at running back will be Courtney Reese(Miami Southridge) and Jermain Thomas(Killian).
They do have a slew of wide receivers. They include Kalani Norris(Columbus), Najeh Baker(South Dade), Gary Cooper(Columbus) and Rasaas Sawyer(Coral Gables).
Their squad does have defensive lineman Jeramy Passamore(Columbus), defensive lineman Greg Pruitt(Homestead), linebacker Eddie Williams(Miami Palmetto), defensive back Demetries Ford(Columbus) and defensive back Cornelius Nunn(Miami Palmetto).
