The Boca Raton Bobcats make the long trip up I-95 and take on the Vero Beach Indians at the Citrus Bowl on Friday night. It is a Class 8A regional quarterfinal between both schools.
Boca Raton(8-2) began the season slow, however they won their last five games. They have scored at least 38 points in three of their last four contests. Quarterback Andrew Cavarly steps up as quarterback for the Bobcats. They have a loaded backfield with running backs Trey Rainey, Stalens Deneus and Tra'Nell Hollis.
Vero Beach(9-0) is undefeated and the top seed in Region 3. They accomplished a state record several weeks ago with a regular-season home game winning streak. Ever with a great home-field advantage over the last several years, they have never appeared in the state championship game. Quarterback Ryan Jankowski can connect passes to wide receivers Jermaine Dawson and Keith Woulard. The Indians can give the ball off to running backs Jaden Meizinger and Bobby McMillian.
