Nine South Florida high schools advanced to the state semifinals of the 2019 FHSAA playoffs. There was 15 teams that headed into the regional finals.
Palm Beach County fell from two high schools to one. Pahokee won while Atlantic lost.
Broward County dropped from eight schools to three. St. Thomas Aquinas, Deerfield Beach and Chaminade-Madonna prevailed. Dillard, Cardinal Gibbons, American Heritage, Western and Calvary Christian fell.
All five teams from Dade County were victorious in the third round. They included Miami Central, Miami Northwestern, Booker T. Washington, Columbus and Champagnat Catholic.
