Panthers Outduel Predators

The Florida Panthers got by the Nashville Predators 3-0 on Saturday night at BB&T Center. The Panthers began a franchise record nine-game home stand and stopped a three-game losing streak.
Chris Driedger made his Florida debut in net as he got his first NHL win and shutout. The Predators played for the first time this season on consecutive days.
After a scoreless first period, Florida(13-8-5) made it 1-0 at 1:06 of the second. Noel Acciari tried a wraparound shot that popped out to the low slot. Colton Sceviour shot the puck and it was saved by Juuse Saros, however Anton Stralman followed with a snap shot from the right circle for his first goal of the season. His last tally was 50 games ago with the Tampa Bay Lightning against Montreal.
Nashville(12-10-4) went down 2-0 at the 8:38 mark of the third period. Vincent Trocheck stole the puck from Saros on the end wall then backhanded it to the crease. Stralman put in a forehand shot from the edge of the blue paint for his second goal of the game.
The Cats made it a three-goal margin with 8:51 left in the third. Keith Yandle advanced it to Evgenii Dadonov behind the Predators cage. He centered it to Alekander Barkov at the right of the crease and he shoveled in a shot for his eight goal of the year. It was the 100th NHL assist compiled by Dadonov. Barkov passed Nathan Horton for fourth in Panthers franchise history with his 143rd goal.
