Hurricanes Come Back On Panthers

The Florida Panthers fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 on Saturday night at PNC Arena. It was only one of two road contests for the Panthers in a 16-game span. The Cats are playing 14 home games during that time.
There was plenty of scoring during the first period. Aaron Ekblad make it 1-0 for the Cats at 8:36 off a feed from Noel Acciari. Brian Boyle added a tally just 18 seconds to give Florida(12-6-5) a two-goal gap.
Carolina(14-8-1) matched the Cats later in the frame. Brett Pesce scored at 9:35 and Martin Necas snapped a shot from the right circle with 5:40 left in the first to even it up 2-2.
In the second period, the Canes took the lead 3-2 with 2:15 remaining. Dougie Hamilton put in his 10th goal of the season.
It would come down to the final two minutes of the third period when the Panthers pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Andrei Svechnikov lifted a wrist shot from the red line into the empty net with 1:02 to go for a 4-2 lead.
