The Booker T. Washington Tornadoes challenge the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs in a Class 4A regional final on Friday night at Dr. Bud Tight Field. The Chiefs are the third seed in Region 4 while the Tornadoes are the fourth seed.
Booker T. Washington(10-2) topped Miami rival Carol City 35-14 in the first round and edged the top seed Gulliver Prep 34-31 in the regional semifinal last week. The Tornadoes have won six consecutive games and outscored their last four opponents 150--59.

Cardinal Gibbons(10-2) pulled out a 35-17 road victory over University School last week in the second round. The defending FHSAA Class 5A champions outlasted Monsignor Pace 56-26 in the regional quarterfinal. They have won their last six straight games and scored at least 35 points in their last six contests. The Chiefs have outscored their last 11 opponents 461-149. Quarterback Brody Palhegyi will guide their offense as he connects passes to wide receiver Troy Stellato, Majon Wright, Jackson Marsielle, Bryson Williams and Devon Kiser. Expect running backs Tajae Davis and Coleman Bennett to get their share of rushing opportunities.
