South Florida Undefeated In FHSAA Title Games

Seven South Florida high school football teams played in the 2019 FHSAA football championships. It was a perfect 7-for-7 as all seven teams were victorious in championship game matchups over the past two weekends.
Dade County sent five representatives to the title games and improved from one champion in 2018 to five champions this season. Champagnat Catholic got their second Class 2A title in three years with a 35-14 win against Victory Christian Academy. Booker T. Washington won their first Class 4A state title since 2015 as they edged Bolles 25-21. Miami Northwestern moved down to Class 5A and won their third straight championship and Dade County record seventh overall as they defeated Jones 34-17. Miami Central outscored Escambia 62-27 in the Class 6A title game to win their first state championship since 2015. Columbus got their first state title and they barely beat Apopka 21-20 in Class 8A.
Broward County ended up with two championship squads like they did last season. Chaminade-Madonna won their third consecutive Class 3A title as they topped Florida State University High 35-20. St. Thomas Aquinas captured a record-tying 11th FHSAA championship with a victory over Edgewater 28-23 in the Class 7A contest. It was their eighth state title in the last 13 years.
