560 The Joe WQAM-AM will soon have their daytime transmission signal dropped in wattage. Their daytime signal will fall from 5,000 watts to 4,100 watts while their nighttime signal will remain the same at 1,000 watts. The lower amount of power during the daytime will have no impact on the ability of South Florida residents to hear the signal.
WQAM was notified that their lease of a tower site on Virginia Key just southeast of Miami will not be renewed. They are expected to use their auxiliary tower site on NW 71st Street in Little River as their primary tower site sometime in 2020.
