Golden Knights Slip By Panthers

The Golden Knights raced by the Florida Panthers 4-2 at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night. Florida now has a 0-4-1 all-time record in Las Vegas. The Panthers completed a four-game road trip through four different time zones for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
Florida(19-20-4) broke out to a 1-0 lead at the 2:02 mark of the first period. Aaron Ekblad was stopped on a breakaway and Nick Cousins swept the puck in from the blue paint by Adin Hill for his fifth goal this year.
Vegas(28-13-2) evened it up 1-1 at 4:08 of the second period. The Cats lost the puck in their own end and Keegan Kolesar centered it from the left circle. Nicolas Roy snapped a shot from the inner right circle past Sergei Bobrovsky for his eighth goal of the campaign.
The Panthers reclaimed the lead 2-1 on the power play with 7:13 left in the second. Aleksander Barkov passed from the right circle to Tkachuk on the right side. He made a quick pass and Sam Reinhart one-timed a forehand shot from the low slot for his 13rd goal this season.
In the third period, the Golden Knights tied it 1-1 at 8:37. Kaedan Korczak sent a lead pass from his own zone to Jack Eichel at the red line. He skated in alone on a breakaway and scored his 15th goal of the season on a wrist shot from the right side of the crease.
It became 3-2 for Vegas with 2:36 remaining in the third. Kolesar made a backhand pass from the left corner and it was guided in by William Carrier from the crease area.
The Cats challenged the play for goalie interference and it failed to give the Golden Knights the man advantage. William Karlsson added an empty-net, power-play tally with 1:07 to go in the period for a 4-2 lead.
