Stars Burst Panthers

     The Dallas Stars rushed by the Florida Panthers 5-1 at American Airlines Center on Sunday. The Panthers reached the midway point of the regular season and continued their four-game road swing. 
     Dallas(24-11-6) took a 1-0 lead with 3:15 left in the first period. Jason Robertson chalked up his 27th goal of the campaign. Nils Lunkvist increased it to 2-0 with a power-play tally at 10:03 of the second period. 
     Florida(18-19-4) cut the deficit to 2-1 with 7:25 to go in the second. Carter Verhaeghe collected his 19th goal of the season on assists from Brandon Montour and Matthew Tkachuk. The Stars made it 3-1 just 39 seconds later on a goal by Esa Lundell. 
     In the third period, Dallas extended their lead. Colin Miller sent a long lead pass out of their defensive zone and Robertson scored on a breakaway at the 4:21 mark of the third period for his second goal of the contest and 28th goal this season. Miro Heiskanen added an unassisted goal with 4:11 left in the third and they had a four-goal margin.
