Heat Edge Thunder

The Miami Heat set an NBA record with the highest number of free throws made without a miss in a contest as they got by the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-111 on Tuesday night at FTX Arena. The Heat will host the Milwaukee Bucks twice later this week.
Miami(22-20) had a 31-26 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Heat extended their lead to 63-56 by halftime. Oklahoma City(18-23) cut a seven-point margin down to one point 89-88 after three quarters. Jimmy Butler made a layup and a free throw with 12.2 seconds left in the fourth quarter to cap a Miami 8-2 spurt.
The Heat set a new NBA record on their last foul shot by Butler as they went a perfect 40-for-40 in free throws made in a game. It broke the record by the Utah Jazz as they went 39-for-39 versus the Portland Trail Blazers back on December 7, 1982.
Butler chalked up a game-high 35 points along with seven rebounds for the Heat. Max Strus put up 22 points and seven rebounds. Victor Oladipo dropped in 19 points while Gabe Vincent scored 12 points.
Josh Giddey compiled a triple-double for the Thunder with 18 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drained in a club-high 26 points.
