Marlins Acquire Luis Arraez

     The Miami Marlins have acquired infielder Luis Arraez from the Minnesota Twins for starting pitcher Pablo Lopez, infielder Jose Salas and outfielder Byron Chourio. Arraez is slated to be second baseman for the Marlins and Jazz Chisholm Jr. will be moved to center field for the upcoming season. 

     Arraez has played the last four years with the Twins. He ended up winning the American League batting title last season with a .316 batting average. Arraez also had eight home runs and 49 runs batted in during 144 contests in 2022. 

     Lopez was on the Marlins major league roster for the last five seasons. He had a 10-10 record with 174 strikeouts and a 3.70 earned run average in 180 innings pitched last season.
