The Miami Marlins made a trade on Monday as they acquired relief pitcher Matt Barnes from the Boston Red Sox for relief pitcher Richard Bleier. It ended a three-year stint for Bleier with the Fish.
Barnes has spent his entire nine-year Major League Baseball career with the Red Sox and was named to the American League All-Star Team in 2021. He pitched in 429 games for Boston and only started two contests.
