DeBoer was once the head coach of the Florida Panthers from 2008-09 until 2010-11 and had a team record of 103-107-6. He later coached the New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars.

Peter DeBoer Named NHL All-Star Game Coach
Dallas Stars head coach Peter DeBoer has been named as the Central Division head coach for the 2023 NHL All-Star Game at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise on February 4. Other head coaches for the NHL All-Star Game includes Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes for the Metropolitan Division, Jim Montgomery of the Boston Bruins for the Atlantic Division and Bruce Cassidy of the Vegas Golden Knights for the Pacific Division.
