The Atlanta Braves got by the Miami Marlins 5-3 at SunTrust Park on Monday night. It was the first time that the Marlins played a game outside the state of Florida since July 8.
In the opening inning, Miami(46-62) pulled out to a 2-0 lead. Brian Anderson smashed a two-run homer to center field on a 2-1 pitch. Derek Dietrich was able to score in front of him.
Atlanta(56-47) tied the contest in the bottom of the second. Tyler Flowers scored on a sacrifice fly by Ender Inciarte to left. Julio Tehran came up a nd singled to center field and brought home Johan Camargo.
The Braves struck again in the third. Freddie Freeman belted a home run to right field on a 3-2 pitch. Three batters later, Camargo drove in Flowers with a double into left field.
The Marlins closed the gap in the top of the fifth. J.T. Realmuto knocked in Dietrich on a double to deep center.
The Bravos picked up an insurance run in the bottom of the frame to make it 5-3. Ronald Acuna Jr. pounded a solo homer to center field on a 1-1 pitch.
