The Miami Marlins edged the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 at Marlins Park in 10 innings on Monday night. The Fish have prevailed in three of their last four games.
In the second inning, Miami(35-51) took the lead. Miguel Rojas doubled to deep left field for Starlin Castro to score.
Tampa Bay(42-42) was able to tie the contest in the top of the fourth. Former Marlin Adeiny Hechavarria hit a sacrifice fly to right field and Daniel Robertson crossed the plate.
The Marlins pulled ahead during the bottom of the fifth. J.T. Realmuto cracked a solo home run to left-center field on a 1-2 pitch.
The Rays were down to their last out in the ninth inning when they tied the game. C.J. Cron sliced a double into the left-field corner for Jake Bauers to reach home.
The game was decided in the bottom of the tenth inning. Yadiel Rivera grounded the ball to third for an infield hit and Brian Anderson ran down the third-base line to score the game-winning run.
