The Miami Marlins defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 on Saturday at Tropicana Field. The Fish look for the three-game sweep on Sunday.
Both teams scored in the fourth inning. Miami(43-57) drew first blood when Martin Prado doubled to left-center field and Justin Bour scored. Miguel Rojas later grounded out to second with Starlin Castro crossing the plate for a 2-0 lead.
Tampa Bay(49-49) answered back in the bottom of the frame. Joey Wendle homered to center field on a 2-1 pitch.
The Marlins regained a two-run margin in the seventh inning. Cameron Maybin smacked a solo shot over the left-center wall on a 3-1 count.
The Rays fell short in the bottom of the ninth for their second straight game against the Fish. Ji-Man Choi lifted a solo home run to center field on a 1-0 pitch to make it 3-2.
