The Miami Marlins shut out the Washington Nationals 5-0 on Sunday at Marlins Park. The Marlins finished a stretch in which they played 22 of their last 28 games at home.
The Fish got a surprise run in the second inning. Marlins starting pitcher Jose Urena drove in Miguel Rojas with a single into center field.
Miami(46-61) made it 2-0 during the bottom of the third. Martin Prado doubled to center for Brian Anderson to score.
Washington(52-53) surrendered three more runs in the fifth. Prado knocked in Anderson on a base hit to right. J.T. Realmuto would then score on a fielding error by Daniel Murphy. Rojas followed with a double into left field and Prado crossed the plate.
