The Florida Panthers continued and added to their payroll on Monday. They signed right wing Paul Thompson and defenseman Jacob MacDonald to two-year contracts.
Thompson had previously been in the Panthers minor league system with Springfield in 2016-17. He played last season with the Chicago Wolves as he compiled 24 goals and 14 assists in 76 games. Thompson had a stint on the Florida Panthers NHL roster in 2015-16 as he played 21 games with three assists.
MacDonald led all AHL defensemen with 22 goals and 55 points while playing for the Binghamton Devils last season. He played college hockey with the Cornell University Big Red.
