2023 FHSAA Playoffs Regional Semifinal Results

     The regional finals of the 2023 FHSAA Playoffs happened this past week. 16 South Florida tri-county high schools will participate in the regional finals. 
     Region 3 in Class 4M had #1 Monarch defeat #4 Santaluces. #2 Palm Beach Central survived #6 Boca Raton 34-28 and they will visit Monarch in the next round. Region 4 saw #1 Columbus downed #4 South Dade 34-20 and #3 Western upended #2 Miami Palmetto 19-9. Columbus will host Western in the regional final. 
     Class 3M in Region 3 resulted in #1 St. Thomas Aquinas blanking #4 Blanche Ely 40-0. #3 Coconut Creek held off #7 West Boca Raton 24-17 and will travel to St. Thomas Aquinas next week. In Region 4, #3 Miramar handled #7 Belen Jesuit 31-7. #1 Homestead edged #4 Southridge 35-33 and will remain home against Miramar in the following round. 
     The two powerhouse squads in Class 2M in Region 3 advanced to the next round. #1 American Heritage easily beat #4 The King's Academy 49-7 and #2 Cardinal Gibbons knocked off #6 Calvary Christian Academy 34-9. It will be a district rematch between both Broward County teams in Plantation for a regional final. Region 4 had the top two seeds move on as #1 Miami Norland powered by Monsignor Pace 52-27 while #2 Miami Central bounced #3 Booker T. Washington 35-13. 
     All the South Florida home teams won in Class 1M. Region 3 had #1 Chaminade-Madonna dominate #4 Avant Garde Academy 67-0. They will host #2 Cardinal Newman, who got by #3 Benjamin 28-6. #1 Tru North Academy routed #4 Westminster Christian 48-16 and #2 Archbishop Carroll took out #3 Palmer Trinity 35-6 in Region 4. 
     There was just one South Florida high school in Class 1R. #4 Pahokee lost to the top seed #1 Williston 52-17 in the regional semifinal.
