Panthers Push By Blackhawks

     The Florida Panthers closed out the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Sunday at Amerant Bank Arena. Both teams met each other eight days ago in Chicago. The Panthers have won four consecutive games. 
     It was the first appearance by Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard in South Florida. The Blackhawks had played the least amount of games than any NHL club heading into this contest. 
     Florida(9-4-1) quickly made it 1-0 just 39 seconds into the first period. Oliver Ekman-Larsson place in a deflected shot for his fourth goal with his new team. 
     Chicago(5-8-0) matched it at 7:04 of the opening frame. Jason Dickinson redirected a shot for his second tally in 2023-24.
     The Panthers regained the lead 2-1 with 8:06 left in the first on a power play. Sam Reinhart collected his team--high 10th goal of the season on a tip-in shot. 
     The Blackhawks evened it up 2-2 with 56 seconds remaining in the period. Bedard got his eighth goal of the year with a wrist shot from below the right circle after he stole the puck. 
     In the second period, the Cats moved again by the score of 3-2. Reinhart found the net once more at the seven-minute mark as he released a backhand shot. from the left goal line. 
     The Hawks answered back just a little over one minute later at 8:18. It was the second goal of the contest for Bedard when he skated alone down the left side and snapped a shot from the low left circle past Sergei Bobrovsky for his ninth goal. 
     Florida increased it to 4-3 with the man advantage at 2:44 of the third period. Carter Verhaeghe put in a wrist shot for his sixth tally this season.
