Miami(7-3) picked up a 38-yard field goal from Jason Sanders with 1:29 to go in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead. The Fins made it 10-0 when quarterback Tua Tagovailoa tossed a seven-yard swing pass to wide receiver Tyreek Hill on the right side of the field for a touchdown at 8:21 of the second quarter and a 10-0 advantage.
New York(4-6) closed it to 10-6 with 1:05 remaining in the second. Brandin Echols intercepted a pass and returned it to the end zone.
The Jets got the ball and a threw a Hail-Mary pass on the last play of the first half. It was intercepted by Jevon Holland and he raced 99 yards for a touchdown to give the Dolphins a 17-6 halftime lead.
