Chris Andersen Returns To Heat

Chris Andersen, a.k.a. Birdman, has signed a one-year contract to return with the Miami Heat. He joined the team in January as a backup center. The Heat went 39-3 in the 42 regular season games that he participated in. He helped Miami with a 27-game winning streak, second longest in NBA history, and to win their third NBA title in franchise history.
Andersen averaged 4.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and one blocked shot per game during the regular season. He also had a high field goal shooting percentage as he made 57.7 percent of his shots. During the playoffs, Andersen was a perfect 15-for-15 shooting from the field against the Indiana Pacers from Game 1 through Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He broke a Heat franchise playoff record, once held by Alonzo Mourning, as he was 7-for-7 from the field in Game 1 versus Indiana.
