Former local television sportscaster Dan Hellie will soon join the NFL Network in Los Angeles as a studio host. Hellie will leave his position as a sports anchor and sports reporter at WRC-TV in Washington D.C. He has been employed at that station since July 2006.
Hellie was the lead sports anchor at WPTV-TV Channel 5 in West Palm Beach from 2000 until 2003. He then moved on to Orlando where he worked as a sports director and sports anchor at WESH-TV.
Prior to landing in Florida, Hellie started his broadcasting career in Alexandria, Minnesota. He then spent two years from 1998 until 2000 as a sports director and sportscaster at WPDE-TV in Florence, South Carolina.
