Former West Palm Beach sportscaster Larry Smith has joined WGCL-TV in Atlanta as a sports director and sports anchor. He recently spent a short time at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati earlier this year.
Smith was a sports anchor at WPTV-TV Channel 5 in West Palm Beach from March 1992 until November 1993. He get a major break when he joined CNN in Atlanta from December 1993 through May 2009. He was part of CNN Sports Tonight from 1993 until they eliminated the program from the channel in September 2001. He was then used as a sports anchor for CNN and their sister-station CNN Headline News. He shifted to become a sports anchor and studio host for Turner Sports from 2009 until 2012.
