Miami(35-61) were only able to produce four hits throughout the game. Milwaukee(41-56) scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 13th inning as Caleb Gindl smacked a lead-off homer on a 1-0 pitch down the left-field line against Ryan Webb. It was his first career home run.
Marlins starting pitcher Henderson Alvarez went seven innings and allowed no runs on five hits while Brewers starter Wily Peralta gave up no runs on two hits and struck out seven in eight innings.
