Former Miami sportswriter Judy Battista has joined the NFL Network and NFL.com. She will leave her role as the National Football League writer for the New York Times. She started in that organization in December 1998 as a college basketball writer until April 1999. Battista was elevated as the New York Mets beat reporter for the 1999 season. She was then moved to cover the New York Jets in March 2000.
Bautista, a University of Miami grad, was first known as a Broward County news reporter and then as a sports reporter at Miami Herald until October 1996. She moved to New York City in November 1996 to work at Newsday for two years. She covered both college basketball and the New York Knicks in her time there.
